Award Stars for Attendance |
||||||||||||||||||||||||
Many gyms award stars for attendance. They feel that 2 to 5 yr olds are too young for awards for skills. Each day a student attends class he/she will receive a star. If you choose 3 or 4 colors of belts for "levels", the students can advance from one level to the next by earning a set number of stars. (16 stars would mean that they attended about 4 months). If they pass up through 3 belt levels, they would have been in the program for about a year. (3 x 4 months). |

| It is common to find some 4 & 5 yr olds that can perform skills like the older kids. You might offer more advanced class in your tots program and give them a special name like "Super Tots". These kids may receive stars for skills, like in your developmental class program. You would want to use different belt colors for the two programs. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
These are only suggestions. You may think of other creative ways to award stars. |
