Pre-School Program

Award Stars for Attendance
Many gyms award stars for attendance. They feel that 2 to 5 yr olds are too young for awards for skills. Each day a student attends class he/she will receive a star. If you choose 3 or 4 colors of belts for "levels", the students can advance from one level to the next by earning a set number of stars. (16 stars would mean that they attended about 4 months). If they pass up through 3 belt levels, they would have been in the program for about a year. (3 x 4 months).
It is common to find some 4 & 5 yr olds that can perform skills like the older kids. You might offer more advanced class in your tots program and give them a special name like "Super Tots". These kids may receive stars for skills, like in your developmental class program. You would want to use different belt colors for the two programs.
These are only suggestions. You may think of other creative ways to award stars.
